Staff

Estimations' staff has a combined 100 years of estimating experience in Alaska. Our team includes five professional estimators, with four having more than 20 years of cost estimating experience in Alaska. In addition, there is support staff to provide administrative, clerical and customer assistance.

Jay N. Lavoie: Principal Construction Cost Estimator, all disciplines

Jay is the president of Estimations, Inc. and for the past 25 years, has provided consulting services in Alaska to design professionals, government agencies, and contractors regarding construction related activities; primarily concerned with cost controls for project development. He has been involved in over 2,100 projects throughout the state. Experience includes: Multi-Use Facilities, Office Buildings, Industrial Complexes, Health Clinics, Laboratories, Hospitals, Sitework, Roads, University Buildings, Schools, Housing, Bridges/Dams, Waterfront Development, Condition Surveys, and Utilities. Jay’s estimating experience includes new, design/build, renovations, additions, and replacement projects.

Robert L. Crosby Jr: Senior Construction Cost Estimator, Mechanical and Electrical disciplines

Bob has 22 years of experience providing mechanical and electrical system estimates for Estimations, Inc. His prior and continuing design experience complements his estimating skills by providing a thorough understanding of the development of a project and the underlying designs. Bob has 31 years experience in A/E design, energy management and related fields.

Rob S. Sythe: Construction Cost Estimator, Architectural, Civil and Structural disciplines

Rob has worked for Estimations since 2002. Project experience includes public safety facilities, universities, K-12 schools, health care and research facilities, single- and multi-family housing. Experience includes new construction as well as renovations and additions. He is a licensed general contractor, providing construction services since 2000, has owned and operated a landscaping business in Alaska for 5 years. Rob’s hands-on construction experience and ongoing general contractor experience complements his estimating skills by providing a thorough understanding of development of a project and of the equipment, labor, and materials necessary to accomplish.
